School of Career Technical Education and Business at Solano Community College

The School of Career Technical Education and Business offers the opportunity to embark on careers that are challenging, exciting, and highly satisfying.  

We conduct a highly respected two-year associate degree program in Registered Nursing, a Career Mobility program for licensed Vocational Nurses, an excellent Emergency Medical Technician program, and courses in medical terminology, pharmacology for health professionals, emergency room, critical care and coronary care nursing. As a student in the associate degree Registered Nursing program, you will learn to apply skills in communication, critical thinking, patient assessment and intervention in a variety of clinical settings.
 

Our instructors are active practitioners with extensive clinical expertise, and they are committed to providing the best possible learning experiences for our students.
 

We are an approved CEU Provider and fully accredited by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
 

The Emergency Technician certificate program teaches students to perform patient assessment and treatment skills in pre-hospital, emergency situations involving illness or injury.
 

The Criminal Justice Program offers core and selective courses which provide the student with a base of knowledge and proficiencies in the area of corrections. The program operates with the cooperation and participation of local corrections agencies. All instructors in the program have experience in the corrections field. Courses are scheduled day, evening, and online to accommodate full-time or part-time students seeking to acquire upgrade skills in the correction field.
 

The Fire Technology program was established under direction of Solano County fire protection agencies and offers both an intensive training course culminating in a Certificate of Achievement and a well-rounded educational program leading to the Associate in Science Degree. Instructors in this program are experienced members of the fire service field. In addition, a Fire Technology Academy for recently recruited fire service personnel and pre-service students is conducted periodically. The curriculum consists of courses selected from the regular fire technology course offerings.
 

In the Business and Computer Science area we offer the knowledge and skill necessary to survive the new millennium. Our programs include degrees and certificates in the areas of accounting, banking and finance, general business, computer information science, management, marketing, office technology and real estate. In addition, we offer courses in business law, economics and international business.
 

In the Career Technical Education area we offer a variety of introductory and advanced courses in applied technology and the trades to allow you an opportunity to explore a career path of your choice. These programs include degrees and certificates in aeronautics, auto body and repair, cosmetology, drafting, electronics, industrial education, and welding. In addition, we offer occupational and work experience credit.

California Supply, Inc. was founded by Mark Weinstein and Michael Rosson in November, 1975. Robert Johnson Co-founded California Supply North, Inc. in January 1987.

Our Company was established to distribute paper products, packaging materials and janitorial supplies. We have two distribution centers, one in Gardena and the other in Union City, just across the bay from San Francisco. Our Gardena facility, which is just south of downtown Los Angeles, serves the Southern California area and our Union City facility serves Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.

To help achieve our goal, our customer service department opens at 7:30 a.m. and closes at approximately 6:00 p.m. We have warehouse shifts that receive merchandise, pick orders and prepare shipments 24 hours a day. These extended hours are only building blocks of our customer service commitment.
