NICU Receives 'Guardian of Excellence Award'



NorthBay Medical Center's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has been named a 2017 Guardian of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey. The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing health care organizations that have consistently achieved the 95th percentile or above of performance in the category of the patient experience.

"This award represents an important recognition from the industry's leader in measuring, understanding and improving the patient experience," said Konard Jones, president and CEO of NorthBay Healthcare. "Our NICU is consistently a center of excellence that sets the standard for patient care."

NorthBay Healthcare Group President Aimee Brewer agreed.

"This represents the NICU's tireless dedication to always putting our young patients and their families first, delivering compassionate care the NorthBay way," said Brewer. "It's inherent in how our NICU team functions, every encounter, and every time."

The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a nationally-recognized symbol of achievement in health care. Presented annually, the award honors clients who consistently sustained performance in the top 5 percent of all Press Ganey clients for each reporting period during the course of one year.

NorthBay Medical Center's Level III Community NICU has provided upper Solano County with the most sophisticated services for premature or ill newborns for more than 30 years.

This award is truly a testament to their passion, dedication and commitment, not only to the patients, but also to the families that we are so privileged to serve," said Steven Gwiazdowski, M.D., medical director of the NICU and chairman of the Department of Pediatrics.

Credit for this high achievement goes mostly to the incredibly dedicated nursing and support staff who make the NorthBay NICU a great place to work for all of us. It is such an honor for us, as physicians, to work side by side with such dedicated and caring professionals."

California Supply, Inc. was founded by Mark Weinstein and Michael Rosson in November, 1975. Robert Johnson co-founded California Supply North, Inc. in February, 1987.  

Our company was established to distribute paper products, packaging materials and janitorial supplies to the apparel manufacturing industry. We have since grown to serve many other industries as well. We have two distribution centers, one in Gardena and the other in Union City, just across the bay from San Francisco. Our Gardena facility, which is just south of downtown Los Angeles, serves the Southern California area and our Union City facility serves Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.

California Supply is a service oriented business. We believe that our main purpose is to meet our customers' needs and to do whatever we can to help them do their jobs better. Our goal, since the inception of the company, is to provide the very best customer service possible in our industry. This goal is on-going, as we strive to continually improve our service to our customers, no matter how good our performance may be.

To help achieve our goal, our customer service department opens at 7:30am and closes at approximately 6:00pm. We have warehouse shifts that receive merchandise, pick orders and prepare shipments 24 hours a day. These extended hours are only building blocks or our customer service commitment.
